DUST: An exhibition about insects, collections and care, 2018.
Woodford Academy, Woodford, New South Wales. Artists: Ingeborg Hansen, Stuart Humphreys, Cat Jones, Chris Jones, Rachel Lawrence, Erica Seccombe, Madeleine Snedden, Julie Taylor and Freedom Wilson. Curated by myself (Jacqueline Spedding) This exhibition brought together artists and museum professionals to explore the processes of collection care undertaken at the Woodford Academy in the summer of 2018. The pest treatment works were an Australian 'first'. The exhibition coincided with a symposium and public talk by National Trust (NSW) Collections Manager, Rebecca Pinchin and Alex Roach from Modified Atmospheres. Developed in discussion with Elizabeth Burgess from the Woodford Committee Management Committee, Dust celebrates the work of my fellow artists and museum colleagues who have backgrounds in art and science.
